About

I am the husband of Joann and father of Clara (9), Renee (7), and Teddy (5).

I am the pastor of Camas Friends Church, a progressive, Christ-centered Quaker Meeting in Camas, WA.

I have a PhD in Christian Spirituality from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, CA.

I teach an undergraduate theology course at the University of Portland.

I believe the Christian spiritual life ought to be characterized by the ongoing cultivation and concrete expression of love. Learning love and “doing” love—this is the journey and destination. This belief is the heart of my ministry and research.

I also enjoy hiking, reading, running, tennis, tacos, the Seattle Mariners, Mcmenamins, a good heart-to-heart or belly laugh with friends.
